Looking for a way to have vROPS provide aggregate measurements on resource (CPU and Memory) consumption by all View linked clones that are in an "Available" state.
Said in another way, we want to know the price of keeping spares on our vSphere cluster.
I'm thinking I need to create a Super Metric, but I'm open to all ideas.
Is there a better way to check ICMP from vRops for those devices such as switches where we cant use epops agent or the workaround using remote server with epops agent to do this check.

I checked this issue with a colleague and I hope it will be usefull for other colleagues
We create a view with data, for example cpu|usage and as we need to know peaks of day we do a transformation to Maximum (no problems until there)
but if we filter cpu|usage in order to see cpu max over 50%... filter isn't applied why is that? Because filter do not use the previous transformation it use the current value, that is to say: If don't there vms on a current state over 50% they will not appear.

I'm familiarizing myself with monitoring in vROPS. Among other things, I'm trying to sort out how to alert on VMs that are powered off but ignoring those that are legitimately powered off. We have some dashboards that have been created for us and we've been informed that we can create groups of resources that are excluded from the reporting. I'm curious about alerts and notifications, though. Is there a reasonable way to ignore VMs that might be powered off for good reason when generating alerts and sending notifications? Do the exclusion groups for dashboard reports also affect alerts and notifications?

I am facing issues with esx hosts system maintenance mode in vrops. During the activity we need to keep the esx hosts in maintenance but as the hosts reboot, these are rediscovered in vrops as new object due to which the maintenance settings previously applied are removed and alerts start triggering. Do anyone know how a workaround for this issue?

when I try to assign a non-custom vro workflow on a recommendatin there is no problem and I see the workflow/action attached to the recommendation but if i create a custom workflow in vRo and try to attache it to a recommendation nothing happens and the action collumn of the recommendation stays empty and I don't receive any error while in vRops 7.6 with management pack 2.0 no problem, but the problem comes when I do an update to 8.0 or even a fresh install and management pack 3.

Hi All
I have two vCenter in two data centers connected with good WAN link (with network latency < 5ms ). Small environment (300 vm, 10 hosts in each DC and one vSAN data store per DC). Based on https://vropssizer.vmware.com/sizing-wizard/choose-installation I can use even extra small one node setup.
Should I add remote collector on other DC to reduce traffic? Maybe I should add collectors on both DC?
If I decide to use remote collector I understand that I need to disable quiescing to allow smooth backup of both nodes?

We are asked to monitor from vROPs HP StoreOnce devices in our environment. Upon checking though, there's no available vROPs plugin for the HP StoreOnce. I just wanted to ask what will be my best approach in order for me to monitor these devices in vROPS. We have in our environment btw, vRLI and vRA.

my vRealize Operations Appliance 7.5 is hanging wen i starting it.
it is stuck by : starting vRealize Operations Gemfire Locator (gemfire)
its now bin there for 3 hours...
the appliance is working as test in vmware workstation and has already run for approx 25 day's
then i reboot my system, and now the vRealize Operations is hanging.
tried to reboot workstation an pc again, but it still stuck.
i have still 3 days on licence.
I tried to ssh but connection refused
any suggestions?

in vRealize Operation Manager 7.5 when you create a custom group and hit the "Keep group membership up to date" a warning sign apper.
This warning message notice to you the refresh interval is 20 minutes.
In the earlier versions it was 5 minutes.
I would like to ask, how can I change this 20 minutes to 5 minutes.

I have some servers running ESXi 6.5, and I need them to not integrated to any of vCenter servers in the environment, although I need to integrate them directly with the vRealize Operation Manager 6.5 that already existing in the environment.
After upgrading to vrops 8
I have to keep resting the admin account password to logon.
using
$VMWARE_PYTHON_BIN $VCOPS_BASE/../vmware-vcopssuite/utilities/sliceConfiguration/bin/vcopsSetAdminPassword.py --reset
after one logon with the account any new attempts fail with incorrect logon.
has anyone else seen this?
I want app teams to be able to create their own policies for monitoring their VMs. Is there any way to do granular permissions for each policy? So they can create new children policies, but not modify the default/parent policy, etc. Or is there a tenant system where they can login to our on-prem vROPS and do their own thing basically?
