Under Home > Optimize Capacity > Reclaim > Powered Off VMs, there is a column labeled Duration that is seemingly tracking the amount of time that a VM has been powered-off.
Is there a way to see where that metric is coming from and or how its being calculated? There isn't an edit option on the widget as in other dashboards. I would like to add this metric to other dashboards.

Looking for a way to have vROPS provide aggregate measurements on resource (CPU and Memory) consumption by all View linked clones that are in an "Available" state.

Can anybody confirm if we can point 2 different version of vROps to a single vCenter Server appliance.
We have a scenario in which we are running VROps Standard 6.6 version and currently pointed to the vCenter Server.
We would like to evaluate vROps Advanced/Enterprise Functionality of vROps 6.7 or even 7.0 before upgrading the current environment and test the features before purchasing the Advanced/Enterprise Edition. or is it possible if we can test the advanced/enterprise features on the current 6.6 environment?
What are the ways possible to do such testing?

i'm struggling with following problem:
I want to create a report with a few trend views (like CPU Usage of the last 24 Hours) on an group of VMs.
There are a configurated views with all the parameters i need and i put them in a custom report.
But i can run that report only on a VM Object and not on a folder or ressource pool.
is there a possibility to create a report with the trend cpu views of more than one vm? Can i create a group of VMs an run the report against that group?

I am trying to create a view of a list of hosts with local storage. The closest I've been able to accomplish this is to select Datastore as the Subject with Data > Properties > Summary > Is Local. This gives me the list of all Datastores names, but not the hosts names they are mounted to.
How do I add the hosts associated with the datastores to the list?

Hi, I want to have a report including the UUID of all my virtual machines.
Anyone that know how to include that attribute in an report?
I am trying to add two remote collectors to the vROps Cluster. After installing the Remote Collector Virtual Appliance, I have registered the Remote Collectors to the vROps Cluster through the web browser.
When I checked the Admin Console of the Master Node, one Remote Collector name is "null" and the node address as IP Address. The other Remote Collector name is registered correctly.
However, both are in "Inaccessible" state and the Cluster state is "Waiting to finish Cluster expansion".
Is there any solution to bring the Remote Collectors to "Powered On" state ?

I'm somwhat suprised the installation document describes required Exchange permissions as being Read to all databases including "system databases".. How does that translate into Exchange rights ?
Could anyone elaborate if they created a role group, or what Exchange specific rights they gave to the service account they are using to run the agent on Exchange 2016 servers ?

I need to implement Custom Email Templates within vROps to add more information into the alerts.
I need to trigger this custom template for all issues with a group of objects.
I've reviewed this KB https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2125759 but the example filtering only shows options to filter on alert types & alert sub types. I actually want to filter so that all alerts are emailed out for objects in a particular group.
I've also had a look at the Email Template Manager fling but this has similar restrictions (Rules can only be created on Alert status and Alert type / sub type)
I would think that the functionality is possible because you can do this in the GUI, I just don't see how it is possible to set this up via the REST API.
Open to any ideas!

I have created a view with 80 columns but when I run the report I only see 51 columns in the csv file and the pdf file fails to even create. Does anyone know who to get around this, it was working prior to the upgrade from VRops 6.0.
I have purchased a bundle of Ent+ with ops manager based largely on my experimenting with the previous (flash-based?) version (6.5). I'm now implementing though and have found that the current version 6.7 is quite different, and I don't like it!
The default 'Home' for example. Some links are simple links to dashboards of the same name (taking you to the 'Dashboards' page) while others seem to show a analogue of some kind of an existing dashboard without actually taking you there (Home > Troubleshoot > Virtual Machine seems exactly the same as Dashboards > Troubleshoot a VM for example).
In these cases although the views/dashboards look the same they are not, as widgets when in Dashboard page can be moved around but not when accessing the seemingly identical analogue from the Home page (in Operations Overview for example). The home page quick start also links to multiple noise links which I am just not interested in.
The default dashboards are also seemingly impossible to get rid of. I have tried deleting them from the cli tools as suggested in VMware Knowledge Base to no avail -- errors prevent the dashboards from being deleted. I tried hiding them using the cli tools, but this seems to do nothing at all; they are all still present afterwards. Disabling them via the GUI works if you only want to disable a few, but disable all of them and they just all get automatically re-enabled again!
This is all horrible to my mind, and I would love to just be able to get rid of the Home page and default dashboards altogether and start with a clean slate and create only the dashboards that I want. Has anyone managed to do this?

I have just upgraded my home lab (4vCPU/ 16GB mem) from 6.7 to 7.0 went smooth no issues with both OS and APP pak's, before the upgrade it used to chug along just fine, very snappy, etc... but now the thing hardly functions... I also noticed that it's CPU usage increased significantly... from about 20% average to 70-80% average! (trying to get some stats to upload soon)
the lab is a small environment, 4 hosts, 25 VM's... NSX, vCenter, vSAN vRA, vRB, vRO & vRLI solutions running just like before the upgrade.
So for example when I try to load All Metrics, I get this error after a few minutes:
Communication Error: Timeout reached while trying to communicate with the server.
Try refreshing the UI manually.
has anyone else noticed this since upgrading?? glad i didn't upload any of my customers yet!

I have upgraded my lab to 7.0 and i love the new dashboard sharing feature especially the url and the never expire. On thing i have noticed and want to make you aware of it once you share out a link and make it never expire there is currently no audit trail of all your shared dashboards (that i can see).
I would recommend keeping a note of all your never expire links until a time that vrops creates a list or someone finds a way to do it. The only way to remove a share is to know the url that was created and put it into the un share link section.
If anyone finds/knows a way to see a list of shared dashboards please let me know
In my test installation I'm able to create new dashboards from the "manage dashboards" area as well as clone, edit and delete them. In the installation I'm setting up for production however these buttons are not present. I'm logged in as the local admin user in both case, both running version 6.7.
What am I missing?
