Are there any tools that work well out of the box for getting information on EMC data domain into vRealize Operations?

some kind of automatic software update is looping on v6.6.1 for over 24 hours so is there a way to halt?
the impact is that certain cluster activities are greyed out but vROps seems ok
do these updates happen often? i guess i need to figure out how to turn them off
here's the oddest part: from the admin view the unknown update appears to be installing but from the ui it appears to be uninstalling - i have screen shots
i realize it might be time to open an SR but wanted to check here just in case
Has anyone come up with a way to create custom Alert type and alert sub-type?
Im looking to create a report that looks at a custom disk space alert and would like to have a way in a report to show what drive/mount point is getting full.
vSphere folders, are the VM's powered on?
I have an interesting request at the moment that requires a dashboard to display whether a group of VM's is powered on or not.
On the face of it the request seemed simple enough, but i am struggling to come up with an elegant solution. Let’s say I have 2 folders in vCenter and VM's in folder 1 are powered off and folder 2 are powered on. I want to show a simple dashboard that would show this. I have tried to use custom groups with the descendants of the relative folders, but it's not as elegant as I would like.
I think I am missing something, I then thought about a super metric to give me a single yes (if all the VM's are powered on) or no (if all the VM's are powered off) but I cannot filter on a VM folder here.
I cannot see the wood for the trees, can anyone think of a simpler way to implement this?
Disabling Alert - vSAN0001
I would like to disable an alert for a default vSAN coming from an MDS switch. The alert is as follows:
"Notificatiob event - VSAN Status Event: VSAN Operational State Down"
What is the best course of action to take on such events you don't want reported?
Thanks
Unable to edit view in Vrops 6.4
Hi
I'm trying to edit a view in vrops 6.4 (have tried chrome and edge) and get same issue.
When I highlight the view and click edit, the screen freezes. Sometimes the box is displayed, but with now data in it.
I'm running windows 10. My previous laptop running window 7 worked fine.
Anyone else had this issue?
Thanks
Pete
Are the upgrade bits for vRealize Operations 6.7 available? If so, can you provide the URL, since my.vmware.com doesn't seem to have them available yet...
I've read several blogs and seen upgrade videos for vROps but am unable to locate the relevant upgrade bits on my.vmware.com.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike Gruen
How to get 95th Percentile for CPU & Memory every 30 days?
I'm looking for a way to get a monthly report for 95th percentile for CPU and memory on my vm farm. I don't necessarily need individual VMs...I just need the overall. Is this something that can be done w/ vRops 6.6, or powerCLI?
I've been searching for days and finding some things that come close..but aren't quite what I need.
Can I customize vrops to show my dashboard as landing or home page ?
I have configured a dashboard. And I want to show this dashboard as landing page once user logs in to the vrops.
Currently it is showing recommended actions page as landing page.

Retrieve VM object id from vROps
Hey,
Is there an easy way to retrieve the vROps object ID of a VM object? I'm asking because I'm thinking of a way to generate the link that will take a vRA user straight to the All Metrics view in vROps for his VM.
I was thinking that this can be generated as a day 2 action in vRA, so that if users had performance issues with their VMs they can jump straight to vROps and take a peak at the metrics.
Has anyone implemented something similar successfully?
PS: I am aware of the health badge that shows up in vRA in on the item details view, but I'm looking for something more.
Thanks!
Certificate considerations for data collector nodes
Hello,
I know that it's written somewhere in VMware documentation but I just cannot find it...do I need to add the data collector host names to the custom certificate that I'll be installing on the vROPS 6.6 cluster?
Thank you!

Continuous Re-Configure Virtual Machine in Vcenter
Re-Configure Virtual Machine message appears continuously in Recent Tasks of our vsphere cluster. This is a Vmware view desktop environment and message appears every 15-30 min time for a given VM. Individual trend graphs for respect hosts running on a cluster(s)
Hi Everyone,
I am trying to generate a ESXi Host trend & forecasting report. I tried creating a custom group with the list of clusters that I need and ran the report with the help of created group. However I am getting the trend & forecasting of all hosts in a single graph.
Is it possible to generate the same with separate graphs for individual hosts OR at least separate graph for the hosts running on each cluster that I added in custom group. Appreciate your help in this regards.
Thank you !
My thoughts on vrops 6.7
I just upgraded our lab environment and have been looking at the changes that have been made to the main area that we use.
Allocation based capacity. If you currently use this i would suggest you dont upgrade because as far as i can tell it has been removed as a configurable option.
So first the polices
As you can see there is no configuration for an allocation based model. We have 21 different environments that we use different over allocation ratios. After the upgarde they will no longer be valid. All i have access to is a set of 3 pre defined metrics
But these dont line up to what we use. Also it does not take into account any buffers or HA settings in the clusters because again these are not configurable in the policies
The last thing is the removal of all the custom profiles that we use for capacity planning and deployments.
If this is the case and i am not missing something then i am totally disappointed in this release
First time creating a custom dashboard
I am attempting to create a custom "C-Suite" dashboard for upper management to view the environment and have a couple of questions. The requirements given to me are to show something like the attached photo.
I have played around with dashboards a bit, and was able to create the three Utilization Trend Views no problem. Where I am running into issues is on the total capacity blocks, which I would have thought would be the simpler of the two tasks. In looking through the widget options, I cannot seem to find one that will show me this. I thought Property List, but don't seem able to configure it correctly.
Troubleshoot a VM as a report
Hello,
is it possible to create a report which looks like the Troubleshoot a VM Dashboard. I really like the look and feel of the report.
Purpose is I wan't to create a report per selected VM with exactly the same data as the dashboard within a requested timeframe.
I tried to create the same report but I lack the vRealize Operations expertise.
Best regards
Davy Crijns
Exclude data from Login PI?
We are using Login PI to benchmark our VM performance. The software connects to a VDI session and starts a workload. This is now skewing our vRops data Is there any way to exclude this?
Deploying vROps 6.7 OVF using HTML5 GUI
Has anyone else tried doing this? I've tried it a couple of times in my lab and it skips all the IP addressing stuff. As a result the vApp uses DHCP for all its settings. When I use the Flash-based client I get an extra step in the OVF deployment wizard where I can manually set all my IPv4 stuff.
