I'm just trying to figure out the sizing requirements for a new instance of vROPS. The storage requirements - is that based off standard policy or assuming you will be monitoring every items?

VOA / .pak files from Salesforce Partner Central outdated with vROps 6.6
Dear community,
over the last two years I have regularly used the VOA files for vROps without any problems, it seems to me that the version currently online available 6.1.0000001 is not compatible with the vROps 6.6 installation. No errors occured during the installation but yet no [VOA] / [Phase x] reports are shown and no views have been created.
In a VOA example video I saw this week I noticed that in a newly deployed environment that Arrow ECS presented the solution version was 6.1.0000006. The file I have been using is version 6.1.0000001. Does anyone know if there is a new version of the .pak file out that I could use for vROps v6.6?

Heatmap Widget Filter Functionality
Hi Experts,
I am currently working on creating a dashboard where I need to filter it to only a specific cluster. Now when I try to include a heatmap widget, it works well but only until I put a filter to include VMs from a specific cluster.
When I try to filter it, it shows 'No Data Available'
Please advise ..

VROps API: Mapping from a statkey instance to its resource
Hi,
I'm attempting to use the API to extract some monitoring data about VM's. I'm interested in getting the allocated space in a datastore for each VM.
I can get the required stat for each datastore by first listing the statkeys for the VM, then running the query below for each statkey that matches config|hardware:*|disk_Space

SNMP alerts INTO vrops
Hi Guys,
Does anyone know how to feed SNMP alert into vROPS? We have an SNMP management pack installed and it receives alerts from Cisco devices, but when I try to send SNMP from vCenter, I do not see the alerts in vROPS.
Does anyone know how to do that? Do I need to create some special new object in vROPS or something else?

VROPS - Dashboard - Spectre/Meltdown
I am quite new to VROPS and am currently working on dashboards showing the status of our patching activities regarding spectre/meltdown.
Based on build numbers I have created a pie chart showing the unpatched ESXi hosts based on their build numbers.
What I like to have is an pie chart showing patched vs. unpatched which I haven't found a way to do it right know.
Does anybody have a hint how to achieve this?

vROPs alerts to network share
Hi
I want to send all my vROPs alerts to a predefined network share. I have configured a network share with the network share plugin in outbound settings. If I want to configure a new notification in Alert settings/Notification settings, I can't choose the network share plugin from the dropdown list of the available plugins. Does anybody know, if this is possible or not? My Idea is to send all vrops alerts to this network share. On this share a script will poll on new files and forward the alerts to our alerting system.

Bulk/automated creation of ICMP monitors
We are planning on using the EP Ops Agent to do ICMP pings of VMs, basically to catch mass network team goof-ups, instances where our other site goes offline due to WAN blips, or the rare cases where a VM drops off the network but maybe the VMtools check wouldn't show an issue. The problem we are running into is that there doesn't seem to be a way we can create the monitor aside from clicking through this "monitor this object remotely" wizard 500 times.
Has anyone come across a method where we could either bulk-create these monitors, or a similarly scripted method so that we could have it become part of the provisioning workflow? Ideally we would do both as vROPs is new so we need to set all the existing resources to a consistent state, but going forward it would be part of our provisioning workflow.

Is there a way that we can clone or export OOTB alert definitions like "adapter object instance down" alerts. when i select clone these kind of alerts and i am getting an error that can not clone alerts which are configured for all adapter type.

i found kb# 2135639, which was updated Feb 2017 but it specifies vROps v6.0 & v6.1 so maybe there are alternatives in v6.6.1?

VOA Trial for 6.6
I currently have version 6.6 of Operations Manager installed and wanted to look at the VOA reports. I signed up for the trial, but the only thing that will download is an ISO of vROPS, not .pak file for the reports. I have tried to install the ISO, thinking that VMware may have bundled them together, but the reports are not there when the appliance comes online. I have read other posts on here (many) where people have had the same issue with various versions, and usually the answer includes a link that takes me right back to the assessment evaluation page, where again, nothing downloads but the ISO.
Could someone please indicate either what I am doing incorrectly or direct me to where I can download the appropriate pak file?

Log Insight Agent Install on VCSA 6.5?
Is the Log Insight Agent install supported onto vCSA 6.5? I am finding conflicting information. I am running Log Insight Agent Version 4.5.0-5654101 and vCSA 6.5 U1.

"So the content pack is correct and so is the agent config note. I was too quick to reply. The content pack supports vSphere 6.5 but log insight agent cannot be installed on vCenter 6.5 (which is based on photon OS) and hence the agent config cannot be used for vSphere 6.5. Hope this helps."
Whereas this blog seems to indicate installing Linux RPM on VCSA 6.5 has no issues.

vRealize 6.6 - VOA
I have installed vrealize operations virtual appliance 6.6 and configured the evaluation licenses and run this appliance for 2 weeks. after two weeks when I went and pull the default reports as well as VOA reports(phase 1, phase 2 ,phase 3, and phase 4 ) the reports either in pdf/xls doesn't have any data... How can I resolve this??? kindly advise

vROPS 6.6 Reports with No Data
We are using vROPS 6.6 and when generating VOA assessment reports it's blank with "no data" however on the dashboard all the datas are available.

vROPS Report: Disk Consolidation Needed
Hello. I am somewhat new to vROPS. I've created views and reports in the past, but I'm looking for something new. I've been asked to create a View/Report that lists any instances of VMs that are in need of disk consolidation. The screenshot below shows the instance that I am attempting to track/report in vROPS.
At first, I thought the metric |Virtual Machine | Disk Space Reclaimable | Snapshot Space | Reclaimable Capacity (GB)| with a filter for "not 0" would suffice, but it does not. This simply gives me a list of VMs with snapshots present, not VMs in need of disk consolidation (per the screenshot above).
My vROPS version is 6.6 (5707161).

Is it possible to have multiple dashboards as navigation targets from the same Widget?
Hi,
I'm using the Object Relationship widget in a dashboard and would like to have several dashboards set up as dashboard navigation targets.
I would like to select an ESXi host in the relationship widget and navigate to a specific Host troubleshooting dashboard and use the selected host as object input.
In another scenario I would like to select a datastore in the same relationship widget and navigate to a specific datastore troubleshooting dashboard and use the selected datastore as object input.
It works fine now, but only with a singel target dashboard.
Is it possible with multiple dashboard targets from the same widget?
If not,- will this be available in the upcoming 6.7 release?

vROps Endpoint Agent - Could not reserve enough space for object heap endpoint agent
I’m working to get the End Point agent (Agent-x86-64-win-6.6.1-6091118) installed in our environment and have come across an issue with some systems giving a response of "Error occurred during initialization of VM. Could not reserve enough space for object heap". I have verified the system has enough resources and tried to reinstall the agent but it always comes back to the same error. Has anyone dealt with this issue?
