Hi,
This is in VROPS version 6.0.0
Please advise how to specifically send SNMP Traps to outside from VROPS data node always.
I was working for sending SNMP traps expecting receiving from one node, but observed there is inconsistency as SNMP traps being sent from data node and sometime master node.
How to enforce always the SNMP traffic is being sent from Data Node all the time.
Kindly reply as soon as possible.

I just installed vRealize 6.4 and do not see the Python Actions Adapter listed under Adapter Type in the configure Solutions option.
I was able to configure the vCenter Adapter, however, I don't see the Python Adapter.
Has this changed in 6.4 as I was able to install int in6.2?

I use in test lab vROps 6.4. I want create dashboard or view with full information of VMs, which displays a VM Notes of vSphere. How I can do it?
I upgraded my vrops appliance from 6.2.x to 6.4 but its still showing 6.2
any idea why?
What are the capabilities that I can access in vRealize Operations Manager that I cannot access in the panels that are visible in vCenter Server?

i know this question is ask a lot in this forum , but maybe there are some new clues or recognitions.
For an important report we need the onlinetime in percent and the creation date of the virtual machines.
I solved the onlinetime in percent topic with a supermetric:
100 - ${this, metric=summary|poweredOffTimePercent}100 - ${this, metric=summary|poweredOffTimePercent}
Not perfect, but it does what we want.
So, back to topic... does anyone found a solution for the creation date topic in vROps in the meantime? That would be so great.

We are changing retention of statistics kept in our Analytics VM as Re: How can I configure the duration of statistics on vCops? shows. But seems like we need to expand the volume for that prior to changing the value 180 to 360.
I guess the required size of the volume will be roughly double the original. Please advice if we can do that and how to.

I hope someone can give me a little Help.
I have vRops and the Horizon Adapter set up and running, and The Horizon Broker Agent is pushing stuff to vRops. But I can't find the Horizon Events (i.e. Provisioning errors on a Specific Pool) in vRealize Operations.
So I have a Pool with Provisioning Errors, but if I inspect the Pool in vRops, and check the Metric "All Metrics" -> "Error Events" -> "Desktop Provisioning (last Interval)" the Counter is Zero.
But if I inspect my View Broker Agent Collector, the Metric "All Metrics" -> Database Records -> "View Events" has Numbers different from Zero, so the Connection to the Database seems to be fine.
What I want to acheive in the end is that error events regarding a specific pool in Horizon Manager are being populated to vRops.
Ih there a Way how this can be done?

In most of metrics, I see "Aggregate of all instance" metric. For example: virtual disk - " IOPS | Aggregate of all instance".
Does anybody know what is this metric? Looks like it's not sum of IOPS of all virtual disks.

I have a customer who is using vrops in dev environment .
He have a questions regarding this :
Network - Can vrops monitor physical devices as well like cisco devices.
Storage - can it monitor heterogeneous storage . If yes then how it is diffrent from EMC ViPR SRM.
Application - I understand hyperic is not that capable so we are using AppD.
System performance- we are using BMC BPPM ? Can i use vrops here as it can optimize as well.
Last but not the least . Can i use vrops as a MOM layer tool?

I am looking to setup a dashboard that consists of an object list that is filtered to clusters (easy enough to do) that then has a widget interaction into a metric chart that lists all the hosts that is part of the cluster and displays the memory contention. I can do it with a health chart and it works for 80% of what i need.
The only problem with the health chart is you set the time frame within the config of the widget. You can then zoom in by selecting the time you want on the chart you want. Again this is great but there is no way to change the time frame of the widget unless you edit it which you cant do unless you are the owner of the dashboard.
Is there a way of adding multiple objects to a metric chart. i cant think of a way to do it as you cant change it to view children (hosts when i select a cluster)

I am curious regarding the nature of freshly built VMs and policy application.
I have observed that there is a delay when they are powered on and when they are filtered into a custom group.
For example; I have a development server that via naming policy will have the development policy applied to it. For the first 3 collection cycles the VM has the default policy applied to it and sends out unnecessary alerts regarding workload and up-time during application installation.
Any ideas for a metric that I can tie to machine build time, number of collection cycles or thus?
I would then at the least be able to apply a filter to specific alert policies to disregard this as an anomaly.
Ideally I would like to filter all symptoms for a brief period after the machine is built.
I appreciate any thoughts on the matter,

In order to prevent some users from seeing unnecessary dashboards.
I'm using a test users with minimal permissions, and assign him to a test group. No dashboard assigned to his group,
and till when I log in with the user, I can see all of them. Sharing or unsharing doesn't seem to do anything.
What am I doing wrong?

I noticed some odd behavior recently, and wanted to see if anyone else has seen similar. I recently spun up a vRealize environment for a company, encompassing 3 vCenters. For the first week of collecting data, everything has been working just as I would expect. I came in yesterday, however, and noticed that the interactivity on the home page heat maps is gone. In the screenshot below is an example of what I am seeing:
Previous to yesterday (and in all deployments I have done in the past), I can hover over any of the colored squares in the heatmap and I will receive a popup with machine info for that object. Suddenly this functionality is gone; hovering over the squares returns no information. I have tried in different browsers and on different machines. The rest of the views seem to be working just fine, but I use this Health Overview as my first stop every morning; just curious if anyone has an idea on why this would cease to function.

In the upgrade section it says that if you have customized the content, which I have, you need to clone the content. So that you can select the option to reset out-of-the-box content so that it can provide new content without overwriting existing content. This is really making me worry. I know you can export policies and I know you can clone alerts, recommendations, and symptoms. I just want to make sure I upgrade correctly and don't lose my customization's. Anyone else confused on how to ensure your customization's should be exported so that you can re-apply after? I can't find anything on how to do so.
