What is "Aggregate of all instance" in vROps?
In most of metrics, I see "Aggregate of all instance" metric. For example: virtual disk - " IOPS | Aggregate of all instance".
Does anybody know what is this metric? Looks like it's not sum of IOPS of all virtual disks.

VROPS 6.0 This webpage is not available ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
i have restarted the services on the master but still not even bringing up the login screen even the admin portal won't load. Any clue before I start engaging BCS ?

"No data to display" since upgrade from 6.0.1 to 6.2.1
Hi all,
Hopefully you might be able to give us a place to start looking to resolve this issue.
The issue "No data to display" was picked up since upgrade from 6.0.1 to 6.2.1.
Existing objects are affected, new objects are displaying the Metrics correctly.
All collectors and permissions are in place and we have more than 6 vCenters that are being collected from.
None of which gives all the metric data. This is for CPU, Memory, network and disks
Below are some metrics on the same VM and also others that either do or do not display data
Example of metrics that does not display:
CPU|Usage (%)
Memory|Usage (%)
Example of metrics the do display:
CPU|Workload (%)
CPU|Total Capacity (MHz)
Memory|Workload (%)
All packs are up to date and was updated after the upgrade was completed.

vRealize Operations 6.2.1 Inactive Alerts
I am curious to know about alerts in vRealize Operations 6.2.1 with a status of Inactive. What is their purpose? Why can't you cancel or delete them, or do anything else with them such as suspend or assign? Do they just keep filling up the database? I cannot find any information about Inactive alerts and how to leverage them or manage them. Thanks.

[vROps] Creating a view to display multiple VMs?
Hey guys,
Is it possible to display multiple VM trend lines through a view widget? Whenever I am creating a trend view, say for CPU contention, then I multi select VMs from an object picker, there not multiple trend lines on the view, only one. Can you guys provide any insight or a tutorial on how to do so? I do not want to use the metric picker for this functionality. I'd ultimately just like to assign a metric to a trend view, then have multiple VM trend lines populate the view.

Alerting on non-OS filesystem usage on Linux
Hi Guys,
We have the EPOps agent deployed to a number of Red Hat 6 VMs, and have noticed that we are not seeing Alerts for non-OS file systems when they hit Warning, Immediate or Critical thresholds.
OS file systems (e.g /, /opt, /var, /home etc) all alert correctly, whereas custom file systems (e.g /applogs, /appdata) do not.
When drilling down through the OS object within vROps, I can see that the metrics are being gathered for each "FileServer Mount" (see screenshot), but these metrics are not being alerted on.
How do we configure vROps to alert on ALL linux filesystems (as it seems to do for Windows) current and future? Or is it a case of changing the Metric / Property Symptom definition each time a VM comes along with a new file system? This seems like unnecessary administration

Monitoring multiple processes with the same name
I know we can monitor a single process through the EPOPS agent. But I find myself in a predicament. For an SAP system there are multiple processes with the same name. I need to make sure there are a certain amount of them running. Is this possible through "Monitor Processes" or do I need to create a monitor script?

Generating report dilemma
Hello all,
I am trying to find out whether this is a rights issue or this is way it supposed to work.
In vROPS, I am trying to generate Horizon VDI Desktop Session Statistics report. (HOME -> Content -> Horizon VDI Desktop Session Statistics).
Right now, I am only be able to pick 1 session at a time to generate this report. Is there way to select all sessions listed under (VDI Desktop Session) to generate a report?

Data Retriever is not initilized yet
I have installed vRealize Operations Manager Appliance for vSphere 6.0 with no issues. It starts up fine. When I try to go to one of the URLs in a web browser to reach the User Interface, it sits on the message "Data Retriever is not initialized yet. Please wait..." and the login fields are grayed out.

VROPS 6.3 SNMP Trap Filtering
I was excited to see this feature in the release notes for 6.3:
- Filtered SNMP Trap Alert Notifications
Previously, enabling the SNMP Trap outbound plug-in caused every alert and update to be sent to the destination, which in our environment was thousands a day, most of which we didn't want in our event management tool, so it required a lot of filtering and strain on that end. The documentation for 6.3 still indicates this is the case:
"All filtering of the alerts that are sent as SNMP traps must occur on the destination host. You cannot filter the alerts based on notification settings invRealize Operations Manager."

What I found was previously enabling the SNMP Trap outbound plug-in sent all alerts, but wasn't listed under Content -> Notifications. In the new version, a new Notification appeared mapping all alerts to the SNMP Trap outbound plug-in. To limit the number of traps sent I deleted that rule and created a new notification to send SNMP traps only for the particular alert rules I wanted sent. Just a heads up if you were looking for how this worked, the linked documentation should be updated with information about the new functionality.

vRealize Operations 6.2.1 - Cannot open dashboards
Hello Everyone here is the scenario:
I have a simple fresh installation of vROPs 6.2.1 with a Master and Master Replica Node. I don't why but when i go to Home and try to open some dashboards it suddenly hangs and the dashboard still not opens.
This does not happen with all the dashboards only with a few ones. I am logged with the local admin account.
Do you know what can it be?

vRealize Operations 6.3 and vRealize Operations Management Pack for VIN (vmware-MPforVIN-6.0.1-2956511) not playing together well.

Unfortunately this appears not to quite work perfectly anymore. This MP worked in 6.2.
Navigating to the dashboards occasionally results in a 'Internal Server Error'. The VIN Application dependencies tab topology graph seems to sit and spin but never draws anything.

HA Buffer missing since VROPS 6.1 to 6.2 upgrade
My VROPS install used to take cluster HA into account when reporting on capacity/time remaining, so my buffer would be "HA (40%) + 10%". Ever since my upgrade it just shows 0%, even though the cluster in vCenter has a 40% admission control policy and I have "Use High Availability (HA) Configuration (Uses more capacity)" configured in my VROPS policy. Anyone seen this issue before and can suggest why its not working??

Exclude Capacity monitoring for certain aspects on certain machines
Is there any way to exclude capacity alerts from triggering on certain machines? We have 25 VDI desktops that constantly trigger alerts about the drive space being full. Is there any way to exclude these VM's from the alert? I have tried to adjust the threshold but these keep triggering the alert. These are Citrix VDI desktops hosted in an ESXi environment and they dont have a drive assigned in vMware, but do get one from Citrix. SInce these are training desktops, users dont save anything on them and are reset when rebooted. I would like to exclude any alerts about hard drive space for all of them.

vRops 6.3 shows no data for capacity/stress
Hello,
vRops 6.3 shows no data for capacity/stress of CPU, disk and memory after i changed policy from Anytime to entire period, i left it 3 days and still no data is shown, only a question mark. See attached picture, is this normal behaviour?

Track Network Workloads to vCD Org or VM?
Hi!
I would like to track from where a certain network load is coming. Ive gotten word from Network-guys that there are some very high peaks that occur in specific times.
What would be the best way to locate from what VM or vCd Org it its originating? A traffic trend with drill-down capabilities or similar would be nice. Ideas?
Ive looked around our VROPS (6.1) but cant seem to find the right view..
