Hello,
Can anyone explain to me what does this metric means : Host CPU Demand %?
Is it the demand that the host is receiving from the VMs ? or the demand of the host itself to the CPU ?
It's confusing for me.
Thank you very much.

Hello
I am planning to dissolve a cluster in Vcenter and move the existing virtual machines onto another existing cluster.
Is there any way to create a project where by i can specify that I want all the VM's in this cluster added to my new cluster and the VROPS tell me if there would be enough capacity to handle the workload?
Hi all,
I have a question, I configured a heatmap to show the cpu/mem counters of the esxi hosts. My question is : when a host is in maintenance mode, is it really consuming something or not ? because in my heatmap, there are hosts in maintenance that are showing with values, and others are not visible.
Thank you.
Hello,
I configured a scoreboard by an XML file, where i want to show these counters:
diskspace | used = Virtual machine used (GB)
diskspace | snapshot = Snapshot Space (GB)
these two counters are not showing as metrics, they are Attribute types. (we can see them only in the right side counters of the super metric window (the attached file).
When I add them to my scoreboard, I get a blue box with a ? mark. (attached file).
Any idea how to solve this ? apparently, we have a lot of counters in the attribute types than in metrics but we can't use them.
Thank you.
I am currently using VRO 6.2 and SRM and having problems with oversized vm's and capacity metrics. It seems as if the placeholders for SRM are throwing off the metrics.
Is there a way to hide the placeholders from VRO??

Hello,
is it possible to generate a view (or even better an report) with a list of all VMs and their consumed traffic from a certain period?
For example
VM1 --> 120 Gb/Month
VM2 --> 56 Gb/Month
.
.
I can not find the the metrics, which give me this informations.
Can anybody help me? Or is this only possible with Chargeback Manager?
Thx
I created my PEM file following the many documents I've found and I don't get any errors when applying it however the cert never changes from the self signed cert.

Is there a different log file that may tell me why it's not working because from this log it looks successful?
Not quite sure what I'm doing wrong.
Hi All,
I'm (still) using vCops 5.8.5.
I have a host that is experiencing very high write spikes to a specific datastore at specific times.
There are 50 VMs on the host and as a lazy admin I don't want to have to review the write load for each VM at that specific time.
How can I create a graph / report that show which VM was generating the high write activity at the specific time.
I have the advanced mode license for vCops so can use the custom login or standard - which ever will help me produced the info I need.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.
i am using vrealize 6. some times it show nic down on host but some times not give a alarm about nic down. what can be problem on vrealize
Hi All,
Kindly share the pros of using VMware vRealize Operations Manager..What are key benefits which we can achieve here.Whether it is only used for Monitoring VMware environments.
Hi all,
I'm working on custom Netapp dashboard and I see that in Netapp objects, we do not have the Workload (%) metric. Does any one know how to calculate it using other existing metrics?
Thank you.
Hi,
I'm trying to define an alert that will trigger only once when a Datastore status changes from Green to Red and after cancelling it it won't trigger again, unless the same event (Green -> Red) happens.
I am monitoring Datastore capacity and have email alerting in place, however there are some datastores that trigger alerts, but we don't care about them. I want to cancel alerts for these datastores and not see them again.
How should I define alerts and symptops?
Thanks
Kamil
Hi there,
I would like to display the settings contained within the vSphere Solution's Default Policy in a human readable format (.dox/.xls etc) so that I can provide my users with a guide as to what monitoring is provided "out of the box" by vROPs.
Has anyone seen this documented anywhere? The .xml file that comes out as part of a policy export looks like it's going to be very time consuming to work with!
Thanks very much,
Dan
So we just upgraded and I see this is not yet a feature. However I do see you can configure a SSO source. Is it possible to configure it such that you two factor into the vSphere web client and then open vROPS?
We're trying to get away from username and password authentication to all our VMware applications. It seems this may not be supported yet?
Thanks
Hi everyone,
I found differences between what reports vRrealize Operations Manager and vCenter server in the metric "CPU Ready"
For example:
Server1 CPU Ready in vCenter Server:
Server1 CPU Ready in vROP:
vCenter server report 200000 ms average in the last week in CPU ready metric, however vROP report max 12573 ms.
Why is this difference? I'm wrong in how to generate reports?
Thanks
Juan Pablo.
I am new to VMware and vROPs.
I have been tasked with generating a vROPs report that tells my management all of the Objects in vROPs. Not only does the report need to tell all Objects in vROPs, it needs to report the machine name/FQDN of the Object and the IP address of the Object. And, if there is an IP assigned to the Object, the report needs to report the IP.
Is there a standard vROP report for this? Or, can I create a custom report for this information?
Thank you,
T.J.
Hello Everyone,
I want to pull metric data out of vRops in CSV, I found getStatsOfResourcesCSV but cannot get it to work... the file comes out in either JSON or XML but never in CSV.
The documentation isn't really clear to me... does anyone know how I can CALL it to output the data in CSV?
Part of the script.
$ContentType = "application/json;charset=utf-8"
$header = New-Object "System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary[[String],[String]]"
#For JSON output
$header.Add("Accept", 'application/json')
#For XML output
#$header.Add("Accept", 'application/xml')
Invoke-RestMethod -Method GET -uri "https://192.168.0.3/suite-api/api/resources/stats?resourceId=UUID1&resourceId=UUID2&statKey=cpu|costop_summation&statKey=cpu|usage_average&statKey=mem|demand&statKey=mem|usage_average&statKey=cpu|costopPct&rollUpType=AVG&intervalType=DAYS" -Credential $cred -ContentType $ContentType -Headers $header -OutFile 'Output.csv'
Hi ,
I am looking for the REST API which will trigger the ‘Test Connection’ for any adapter instance.
