vROps 8.1, users accessing UI with Firefox and Chrome having sessions dropped before the session timeout setting in global settings. Occurring in multiple vROps instances. Anyone seen this before?
Hi there! I need to monitor vCenter, vRLI, vRA, vROps, NSX, etc. availability. Also I need to receive alerts and see in a scoreboard widgent in a colourful dashboard. We are using vROps 8.0.1.
For example:
If one vRA VM is powered off, or disconnected, etc. I need to get an alert, and in our scoreboard, we should see something orange or red.
Please indicate if I need an EPops agent for availability (I think I do) and please help me to create a scoreboard with epops availability agent grouped by application
Try to write super matric to calculate % of consumed Memory for Custom group based on Cluster resource, getting error "Unknown statement 'adaptertype'."
eg Total Cluster Resource Memory = 6000GB, custom group Memory Total consumed = 670G, so Result should be 670/6000 x 100
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
I have scheduled one of my reports to send mail now the content of the mail is such as follow:
The attached report was generated and emailed by vRealize Operations Manager
Report Title: Custom Memory Workload / Utilization / CPU usage and configured
Report Description:
Report Time: Oct 24, 2020, 3:01:25 PM
Completion State: Completed
Is that possible change the Content ?
HI Guys,
I'm planning to build a new vRops 8.1 Environment we have an old vrops which is in version 6.7.
Im planning to move the old files from my old vrops to the one?
Is it possible? or let me know the possible steps.
As I know , new feature APM integration has been added to vROPS 8.2 which is very great now want to know for example I run tomcat or jboss or weblogic on one of my VMS .
Can vROPS monitor it and show all details such as cpu / memory , ... usage that is using by weblogic or .... ?
This might be an easy one, but its not obvious to me.
In 8.2 the VMware vRealize Ping adapter, I have started to set this up.
The Connect Information is as follows
Unique Name - for the instance
Address List - list of comma separated values, etc
Configuration File Name -
It seems that i am supposed to create an xml file in a specific format and store this somewhere.
It mentions to follow the .xml format listed under ADMINISTRATION > Metric Configuration > SolutionConfig and use the ping_adapter_config as the template
I have read the documentation and its not clear to me where this file should be stored once created?
Should this be put on the appliance itself? or can this be referenced from the metric configurations section?
Probally an easy one for someone that has done this before.
Configuring VMware vRealize Ping Adapter Instances
Configuration Filename | Specify the name of the configuration file. The configuration file contains the IP addresses, Cedar information, and FQDN details as a comma-separated file. |
As I see in vROPS document about application monitor it can monitor some applications such as weblogic , apache, jboss , ...... but according to attach pic for example is for JAVA .
KPI for all metrics is False . What does that means ? is that means cannot monitor this metric from java application?

I was looking at the f5 LB that we have in front of our vrops and noticed 2 of the noes were shown as offline. |Looking ta the health moniter it is using a API call GET /suite-api/api/deployment/node/status\r\n
When i run those against the two that are shown as offline i get
This matches up with want i am seeing in the F5.
If i then run the suite-api/api/deployment/node/services/info which all need to be online for the above to go on line i get
All is good except the last one. I cant for the life of me find how to troubleshoot this or any documentation on the agent on the vrops appliance its self. I can fine loads of stuff on remote agents but not this. Anyone any ideas what the command line is to at least try and start it.
Edit: vrops 8.2
