We are using vRops v8.0. We have some Software licensed in our environment, that needs to enable the business intent option in vrops to bind vms tag based to esxi hosts. It's allowed to set in drs rules to should run, as long as we can report violations to the rule and pay for that.
So I have to find/create a report of all business intent violations. Is that possible? I was not able to find any option for that.

I was wondering if anyone has managed to configure a http proxy to work when setting up the outbound settings. I am trying to configure ServiceNow alerts but keeps failing as it can't reach the instance and can see it being blocked on the external firewall, it is possible to make this request go via a web proxy..
I've tried to configure the proxies within /etc/sysconfig/proxy then reboot but it didn't seem to help and really looking for some other solutions before requesting rules to be created.

Using VROPS, how can we get the total vCPU count for all the VM's in a resource pool and total vCPU count for the powered on VM's in resource pool. I need the data in historic format for past 6 months.

Hello all,
I have a complex dashboard template that based upon what resource pool you are a member of you should be permissioned to a certain restricted set of data. Basically it's a multi-tenant environment (about 250). So when they logon they are only privy to X # out of those 250 to which they are members. Problem is random some of the tenants data in the widgets doesn't render. Any ideas or has anybody seen this before?

We are using vRops 7.5 and I received a request to find all VM's within our environment with disks larger than 7 TB. I have tried to figure this out, but I'm only able to find disks C: and D: larger than a specific size in Guest File System| C:\Partition Capacity. I have used Instance Break down but I'm not able to find a solution to view this from all other disks than C: and D:.
Any ideas would be highly appreciated

Long story short I had to change the IP address of VROPS and that process seems to have gone well, pretty much everything came up without issue following these instructions:
The only issue under Administrator > Support > Redescribe EP Ops Adapter has Failed, when I run Redescribe it doesn't change.
Thinking maybe it was an old object discovered I deleted all the objects in inventory I could and it still fails.
So I'm imagining the adapter has a configuration file pointing to the old IP but I don't know where that might be, could anyone give me a pointer or place to check for additional hand edits after changing the IP of VROPS?

VROPS 8. More than 1000 VDI virtualized desktops.
PROBLEM 1:
I need to generate a custom MONTHLY report of "VDI session duration" in hours.
EXPECTED results on a PDF for September 2019:
VDI1 = Sep 1st: 5 hours of usage, etc etc. etc. Sep 30th: 8 hours of usage ...... SUM (this month only) = 200.51 hours
VDI2 = Sep 1st: 2 hours of usage, etc etc. etc. Sep 30th: 4 hours of usage ...... SUM (this month only) = 144.31 hours
VDI3 = Sep 1st: 0 hours of usage, etc.etc. etc. Sep 30th: 0,34 hours of usage..... .SUM (this month only) = 0,87 hours (very low usage of VDI)
...
VDI1000 = Sep 1st: 9 hours of usage, etc. Sep 30th: 7,34 hours of usage..... .SUM (this month only) = 250,87 hours (high usage of VDI)
(you get the idea...)
Steps on VROPS:
1. Create new custom report
2. Create new custom view
3. Select date/time range on custom view
4. On this custom view, select "VDI group" object, then add "session duration in hours"....
PROBLEM: what should I select for this session duration .... should I select "LAST", or "ACTUAL", or "SUM"?
then on advanced.... should I select "1 month" or select "NONE"?
It's NOT working. The report is generated (for the complete "VDI environment") but the RESULTS ARE TOTALLY WRONG. I don't know what's happening.
Also, there are more than 1000 VDI, and on the report (for the complete environment) those 1000+ VDI don't appear.... only a few hundred...
I would be grateful if you could create a custom report for this, attach it to this thread (ZIP file) so I could download it and then import it into VROPS...
PROBLEM 2:
I can't find the DEFAULT templates on VROPS. I read somewhere there are default templates installed on VROPS, so you can create a copy and customize it, BUT I can't see those templates here. Please attach the default templates (ZIP file) so I can import them into VROPS.

I want to monitor 4 component in one vrops so all are with the Different geo-locatio and the connected via WAN.
In above case will configure 4 different remote controller with component and in same location will help to reduce latency?

I have the following situation:
A node with OS Windows where is installed agent of vROPS have a script with connection to database and extract all transaction and create a txt file in a folder with all transaction of the Database.
Now need create a Metric Chart with all transaction from txt and I need to know if is possible run a script (bash) read the txt file and vROPS show me the transaction.
I would like to know if someone has made a dashboard with script that reads data from a file to be displayed in vROPS and if it has worked for them or there is another way to do it.

Hello Everyone,
I'm new to vROPs and I'm trying to figure out a way to generate a report for weekdays 6am-5pm. Our enviornment is very VDI heavy and work is strictly during these work hours so these are the metrics of interest. I keep seeing that the reports allow me to have a range of days, but they don't let me limit the times to the hours I need. Is there any way to do this on vROPs 8?

How can i set a specific date in report? It generates reports a week ago, but i need generate reports from last day.
I'm working on vROps 6.7, i'm getting the alert "NTP Servers are not reachable." very frequently like 25 times a day. There is a kb article for the same i.e. 2144694 which says to restart the casa service of vROps. I did the same but the issue is not resolved. Kindly suggest.
The Horizon Broker Agent is no longer sending data to the Horizon adapter on the vROPS. This stopped working suddenly.
When I open the "vRealize Operations for Horizon Broker Agent Setting" on the connection broker, I am getting a pop-up message from Microsoft .Net Framework:

We are working on setting up vROps to auto-open INC tickets in ServiceNow using the new vROps/SN Notification Plugin. Got it working/talking to SN and opening tickets based on alerts fired-- works great and very happy.
Now we're wondering if it's possible for vROps to auto-close that same ticket that gets opened, once the alert is cancelled. Is this even possible or not?
